Amber Williams

Research Associate

Amber Williams is a doctoral candidate in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education program with a focus on academic affairs and student development. Her research explores the promotion of racial consciousness through antiracism and critical race pedagogies in graduate social work education. Prior to her doctoral training, she worked in student and academic affairs in various capacities and taught as a lecturer in multidisciplinary undergraduate education and social work.

She is a former 2021 recipient of the NCID Anti-Racism Grant, lead research assistant for the This is My Story — Staff of Color Experiences at the University of Michigan research project, and a curriculum and resource lead for the Transforming Higher Education: Building Leadership Capacity for Staff and Faculty digital project.
