Hamida Bhagirathy (she/her) serves as NCID’s Assistant Director. Before joining the NCID team, Hamida served as the Director of Learning Communities at NEW (Nonprofit Enterprise at Work), stewarding cohort-based adult learning communities focused on racial equity, leadership development, and financial resilience. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are the foundations of Hamida’s career–she is passionate about bridging differences with dialogue, and building connections through uplifting lived-experiences. Hamida has deep Wolverine roots, and is a University of Michigan alum twice over, holding an M.A. in Diversity and Social Justice in Higher Education, and B.A.s in Sociology and Political Science, and has worked in Michigan Housing’s Residence Education, and The Program on Intergroup Relations. When not working, Hamida enjoys being in nature, cooking, writing, and trying out new things. Ask her about her current project!
